We pray for our loved ones to get to know Jesus Christ, likewise, we have to call those things which are not as though they are. This prayer for the spiritually dead is based on scripture. Similarly, use the scripture in this context to pray for the spiritually dead to come alive in Jesus Christ. Praying the word of God is powerful, besides, the word of God is alive and active.
This is how you prophesy into the lives of your family and friends by calling them by name as you pray according to John 11 verses 38 to 43. The story of Lazarus in John chapter 11 tells us how Jesus called Lazarus from the dead. Likewise, you and I can call our family members back from spiritual death to life! Prophesy life and let that be your testimony.
Furthermore, Jesus commands us to call those things which are not – to life. Those who do not know Jesus Christ as their Savior are the “walking dead” in the spirit. Consequently, we have to pray for them to come alive in the spirit.
John 11: 38 – 43
Father, I glorify Your name. All glory belongs to You. Thank you that Jesus is the resurrection and the life. Thank you for showing me how to pray for those who are spiritually dead.
Jesus, go with me to the tomb where (you can say the name) lays. As I take away the stone that represents what has prevented (name) from living, I thank You that I believe that I will see the glory of God manifest in (his/her) life.
Jesus, as you prayed to God and thanked Him for hearing You, I know that You hear me as I call on (name) to come forth in Your name. As (he/she) comes forth, I unbind (name) and set (him/her) loose in Jesus’ name. Thank you, Lord, that you set (name) free from the spiritual tomb. I believe that (name) hears you and You set (him/her) free in Jesus’ name!
